About the Artwork

This digital photoshop artwork is a part of my Chase Freedom™ collection which is centered around portraits of celebrity culture and its often skewed representation of racial and gender identities. While celebrities like Kaitlyn (Bruce) Jenner provide evidence of the freedom of American society, their power to define their identity, while impressive relative to the individual, is still largely constrained by the insecurities of a more conservative mainstream narrative. The inevitable friction created between these transgressive celebrities and the defenders of existing social norms creates a narrative atmosphere that works to transfigure these individuals into the complex symbolic objects.

Product Details

For the print run of this product, I worked with Mike Doyle, a veteran Los Angeles printmaker, to design an offset lithograph print that would replicate the sharp lines of the high-fidelity digital artwork. I've worked with Mike in the past, and the level of quality on this print is exceptional. In addition to signing and providing a short note on the back of every print, I also personally inspect the quality of every print to check for any imperfections.

In order to keep shipping rates economical and the artwork protected, every print comes rolled in a 24" x 3" mailing tube. The artwork can be flattened back to its original state by carefully rolling it back in the opposite direction, flattening it under weights, or by simply inserting it into a frame. Please note that all sales are final. If your print is damaged or is lost in the mail please contact reagan@reagancharlescook.com and let me know.
